This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is handled when you use the BirKonuş mobile app and the birkonus.app website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you accept the practices described in this policy.

1. Data controller

Voice recordings and transcripts: the audio you record during speaking practice and the text produced from it. Audio is uploaded only when you grant recording consent on your device.
Usage and progress data: the sessions you complete, scores, streaks and app preferences (e.g. app language, practice language).
Technical data: a device identifier, app version and basic diagnostic logs (for debugging and abuse prevention).

3. How we use your data

To transcribe your speech and generate feedback and a score on your speaking.
To store your progress and history across your devices.
To operate the Service, keep it secure and prevent abuse.

4. Third-party providers and international transfers

To deliver the Service, we share some of your data with trusted providers that process it on our behalf. Because these providers' servers may be located outside Türkiye, this sharing may involve a transfer of data abroad within the meaning of Article 9 of the KVKK.

Speech-to-text and feedback: audio and transcript data is sent to AI providers to produce the transcription and language feedback.
Pronunciation analysis (Premium): when you use Pro pronunciation analysis, your audio is sent to Microsoft Azure for word-level assessment and may be processed outside Türkiye. This feature runs only when you request it.
Infrastructure and storage: audio files and data are stored with cloud infrastructure and object-storage providers (e.g. Cloudflare, database hosting).
Authentication and payments: sign-in, subscriptions and purchases are handled through authentication and in-app purchase providers.

International transfers are carried out on the basis of your explicit consent and/or other legal grounds required by the KVKK, with appropriate safeguards. [Confirm the final provider list and legal basis with your lawyer.]

5. Retention
